Tuesday Museday

For this weeks Muse, I have chosen to showcase Meryl Streep - then, now and forever.  As a member of the elite group of actors who have won three oscars, her muse-worthiness is a no-brainer.

My interest in Meryl, I will admit, did not truly begin till her portrayal of Anna Wintour in "The Devil Wears Prada" (even sadder to admit that Anna Wintour was not even on my radar when this movie debuted). After that, well... its history. Her recent box office success has revolutionized our generations modern notions of leading ladies, with Meryl staring as the lead roll in rom-coms. As Vanity Fair put it, "she's certainly not new to the industry, nor is she young. While she is fabulous by any measure, she is a babe primarily by the standards of the A.A.R.P. set." But that has not stopped me, nor movie go-ers for that matter from admiring and saluting Meryl for giving us a real woman to aspire to.

Here are some vintage photos of Meryl:

P.S. While searching online for vintage photos I was appalled to discover that she has only graced the cover of vogue once! Considering she played Mrs.Wintour, it is a shocking revelation to find out that Meryl is not a repeat debutant. Lets hope it's because Meryl turned down the opportunity to appear on their cover rather than Vogue having not offered her the coveted but WELL DESIRED spot.

See what a fabulous editorial she would have been?
